Diablo 2 Amazon Clone Kill  Guide

How to kill the clone with an Amazon

This was my original clone kill character until I discovered the barbarian. I no longer use it but it does work.

Level 89 Amazon. Preferred choices in red, alternates in green.

Equipment:

Chains of Honor Archon Plate Armor(200% damage to demons 65% resist all, 8% life steal etc..)
Black Hades Armor (30-60% damage to demons + 3 empty sockets for resists or whatever) or really any armor will work. You may need some resists here depending on your other equipment.

Blackhorns Face Helm (Prevent Monster Heal/Lightning resist/absorb).
Harlequin Quest Shako, Vamp Gaze, Valkyrie Wing, Crown of Thieves, almost anything. Another interesting choice is Guillaumes Face helm from the Orphans set as it has 35% chance of crushing blow and 15% deadly strike. Maybe better for melee.

Windforce Bow with 40% extended damage jewel.
BOTD bow will cover your prevent monster heal and also work nicely yet not as fast as Windforce.
Even Magewrath or Goldstrike would probably work with enough patience.

Infernostride Boots (fire resists +10% max fire resist).
Gore Riders for crushing blow/deadly strike.  Goblin Toe for upgraded Goblin Toe for crushing blow. Many others will work.

Laying of Hands Gloves (350% damage to demons).
You can probably get away with anything but nothing else comes close with the added damage.

Thundergods Belt (lightning absorb +10% max lightning resist)
String of Ears, Nosferatus Coil, Verdungos will all work if you don't need the lightning resists.

Dwar Star ring (15% fire absorb)
Duel leech life/mana ring with some resists (probably don't need this anymore and could upgrade to + skills item or something).

Atma's Scarab Ammy (5% chance for amplify damage +20% to AR)

Some 100+ poison damage charms and other miscellaneous charms to fill out resists or whatever you need.

With the equipment in red all resists are 75-85% plenty enough plus you have some fire/lightning absorb.

As long as you have prevent monster heal since you are ranged attacker you can probably vary most of the equipment if you are careful and patient.

Skills: Max Valk/Max Guided Arrow/12 -14 in Critical strike (with add ons). I suspect less valk and more critical might be faster.
Without the valk it would work but you would have to run around more. It seems dclones AI is better than it used to be so the valk isn't as useful as it once was. He doesn't tie up with the valk as well often ignoring it. Still it is a distraction for him. Just keep moving and shooting, recasting valk as necessary. Either bring extra arrows or be prepared for a trip to town in the middle.

Method: Run around, shooting guided arrow. Avoid the lightning blast and don't stand in firestorm too long.
The other attacks don't seem that worrisome.
Keep moving every so often so you don't get bone prisoned. If you do shoot your way out as fast as possible and be ready to drink potions.

Observations..

1) With this setup and smarth play you shouldn't need any healing or rejuve potions or have to make any trips to town. I did carry an extra quiver of arrows. I even precleared the area before I took him on.
2) Total time including clearing about 7 minutes. Probably 5 minutes to actually kill him.
3) If you run out of arrows and get lazy you can always use magic arrow, but it is slower and not guided. I've killed him totally using only like a level 4 magic arrow. Not fast but it works. It took about 20 minutes or more as I recall.
4) Forget about your merc. If he lives great but not worth bothering with.
5) This configuration will dispatch him in about 5 minutes once you get on it.

Bottom line. Here are some general keys.

1) Prevent monster heal. Without this you may not deal damage faster than he heals and be fighting a losing battle..
2) Decent lightning/fire resists. Max is best.
3) Some fire/lightning absorb. More obviously is better.
4) Since all end of act bosses are demons including the clone. Increased damage to demons items will make the kill faster.
5) Enough life/mana leech to avoid needing potions.

Of these what you really need #1, the rest you can probably get around and still kill him.
