Are you kidding. This is Tiger Mountain in June. |
|
Bugs |
None noticed. |
|
Weather |
Low 70's. Perfect hiking weather. Mostly Sunny. |
| Crowds | Not bad for Tiger mountain. Basically no one on Section line trail/way up. A few in various directions between #2 and #1 peaks. |
| Scenic Value | Well it's Tiger mountain, been there done that. I had not however ventured past the Hikers Hut area towers. It was sort of interesting to take in all of the towers. |
| Difficulty | Section line trail a steep slog. Rest normal hiking trails and roads. I mean it is Tiger Mountain. |
Narrative:
This was an after work hike. Hit the trail and proceeded up the Nook/Section Line trail. Only saw a couple near the bottom of the Nook trail and another couple coming west at the RR grade junction. Summit of 3 had a few people. Snapped a picture or two and proceeded to West Tiger 2. No one up there.
Continued on to #1. Again no people. Decided to take the bypass trail around just to get a GPS track more than anything.
On the other side is the continuation of the road. I was in search of the other elusive Tiger towers. I had never ventured east on this road. In a short distance a clearing and 3 more towers are reached. There is a nice view out towards Lake Samammish. This is worth the little extra walk.
A few cool shots looking back towards West Tiger 2/downtown from this same set of 3 towers area.
Onward to the next/last set of towers. Not much further, not overly exciting.
Back towards the hikers hut, cutting through the open gate this time. Someone was up there working as well as his "guard dog".
A few pretty Rainier shots near hikers hut on way back to West Tiger 2 summit.
I made West Tiger 2 my brief snack stop. A few paragliders and such as well enjoying the day off to the west.
Then back over to #3 and down the freeway/main trail. A few parting shots on the way down.
A bit more traffic of people coming up but not bad. Also passed by a few runners coming down.
